ALPHA JET - OE-FRB
A fighter aircraft from the famous Austrian fleet of The Flying Bulls will arrive at LEGENDY NEBES. The plane has been demilitarized, the military version has been used by several countries and is currently still in use by the air forces of Portugal, Egypt, Morocco and other African countries.
The aircraft comes from the French company Fairchild Dornier Alpha and is the result of a French-German cooperation, namely Dassault, Breguet and Dornier. The Alpha jets have excellent flight characteristics and are reliable, That is why they are popular with the French Air Force, where they are used as a training and aerobatic aircraft, flown for example by the Patrouille de France.
The Flying Bulls acquired its first two Alpha Jets at auctio of German federal property, that had been preserved and warehoused in the early 1990s. However, they used them exclusively for exhibition purposes as well as for replacement parts. The airworthy fighters were then acquired directly from Fairchild Dornier in early 2001. They have been flying in Red Bull colours since 2002. Worldwide, these are the first aircraft of their kind to be demilitarised and brought into the civilian sector.
Today, The Flying Bulls' fleet of Alpha Jets has grown to four pieces. In the summer of 2015, three of the four machines were transferred from the German register to the Austrian one: OE-FAS (ex D-IFDM), OE-FDM (ex D-IADM), OE-FRB (ex D-IBDM).
