ZIVKO EDGE 540 V3 - PETR KOPFSTEIN
Petr Kopfstein is a Czech aerobatic pilot representing the Czech Republic in aerobatics in the Unlimited category and until 2019 also in the Red Bull Air Race series. He is the first ever winner of the Red Bull Air Race Challenger Cup.
He has stood on the podium seven times in the Red Bull Air Race Challenger Cup series and after his overall victory in 2014, there was speculation in the professional and lay public about his move to the main Masters category. The move to the top professional Master Class category finally became a reality for the 2016 season, with Briton Paul Bonhomme and Hungarian Péter Besenyei deciding not to continue at the end of the season.
Petr Kopfstein was one of 14 pilots in the Red Bull Air Race series, known as the Formula 1 air race, where in 2017, in only his second season, he took 2nd place in Chiba, Japan, and 5th place overall.
In aerobatics Petr became 4 times Champion of the Czech Republic in all categories including the highest UNLIMITED, he successfully participated in many international competitions including European and World Championships..
Petr Kopfstein is also a Vice Champion of Hungary and Germany in the Unlimited category and a bronze medalist from the European Championship in the Advanced category.
Petr comes from Karlovy Vary and his home airport is Toužim airport. Petr has obtained more than 30 different type ratings, including aerobatic EXTRA, EDGE, SUCHOJ and helicopters. Today, he is showing you the American-made Edge 540 V3, a single-seat special that Petr raced in the Red Bull Air Race series in the 2016-2019 seasons and that Martin Šonka originally raced for two seasons.
