PŘIKRYL-BLECHA PB-6 RACEK
It comes from the hands of not so well-known aircraft designers Jaroslava Přikryl a František Blecha. The great innovators and inventors tried to build several models, but always ended up with prototypes. Their first attempt was the PB-1 model. However, the fate of the very first model seemed to foreshadow its successors. The PB-1 burned down in the workshop when it was stored there over the winter.
The most successful model, the PB-6, was to be shown to representatives from the Ministry of National Defence. It happened in 1934 and the piloting was demonstrated by Ing. Vladimír Šimůnek, who was enthusiastic about the new PB machine and circled the airfield for a long time. Unfortunately, the plane had a fault with the engine and caught fire during the flight. The pilot managed to land and jump out of the burning plane before it caught fire completely. PB-6 was the last attempt of the duo Přikryl and Blecha.
At the LEGENDY NEBES will be presented an ultralight replica this aircraft in 1:1 scale from the collection of the Metoděj Vlach Aviation Museum in Mladá Boleslav. The replica was created by Václav Vondrášek and equipped with a light engine Continental A65 from 1942 with an output of 45 kW (65 hp). (source: letecke-muzeum-metodeje-vlacha.cz). Jaroslav Rákos, who flew this aircraft of all-wood construction with a canvas cover, commented on the replica by saying that it is not a plane, but a carriage.
